TJ runs the busy Basingstoke area with support from her father, Steve Brown. Following a successful career in recruitment TJ started her Rosemary business in 2011 working ‘hands-on’ with her small business owner clients and now manages a team of bookkeepers allowing her to concentrate on sales with an expected turnover in excess of £100,000 in 2016.
With a background in recruitment TJ has proven that you dont necessarily need bookkeeping qualifications to start this franchise. With the support of the Rosemary HQ team, and wealth of information via the Rosemary Knowledge Banks she learnt on the job, every aspect of running a sucessful business from processing the paperwork to presenting the benefits of good bookkeeping to business owners at marketing events. As her business grew, she recruited, trained and now manages her team of bookkeepers which enables to be in charge of her diary, fitting in work around her family commitments. This sometimes requires some juggling but the majority of the time TJ knows she can meet her own personal ambitions of running her own business without detriment to her children.

For TJ Sutherland, who runs Rosemary Bookkeeping Basingstoke, her day typically starts early as she has a young family but some mornings are particularly early as she attends a regular networking event, breakfast is provided but at least she hasn’t had to prepare it! These events are an excellent way of speaking to likeminded business owners seeking referrals and, hopefully, booking in meetings with potential new clients.
TJ has been trading since 2011 and having built up a successful business now employs staff to undertake the bookkeeping processing leaving her free to spend time with her clients as understanding their business better means that she can deliver better bookkeeping solutions for them. She can also concentrate on the marketing of her business, meeting new clients and accountants and also the internal administration of her own bookkeeping and running her own business.
